Dr. Ali Crandlemire-Reid

Owner & Medical Director

 

Ali graduated from the University of Western Ontario with a Bachelor of Science in biology and went on to complete a veterinary degree at the Ontario Veterinary College, University of Guelph where she received an award for distinction in Dentistry. She returned to New Brunswick and was the co-owner of SouthPaw Animal Hospital in Fredericton from 2004 to 2011.

 

Ali was the president of the New Brunswick Veterinary Medical Association in 2010-2011. She is also a member of the Canadian Veterinary Reserve and has volunteered her veterinary services in Africa, and in New Brunswick with Ca-r-ma (Cat Rescue Maritimes). Ali has also participated in the pet therapy program at local nursing homes with her dog Bailey for the past several years. In 2010, Ali was selected to attend the Emerging Leaders Program at the Canadian Veterinary Medical Association conference in Calgary. She is currently a member of the Board of Directors of the Fredericton SPCA.
 

Dr. Crandlemire’s special interests and training include orthopedic surgery (cruciate surgery, patella luxation repair and fracture repair), acupuncture, laparopscopic surgery, and behavior in dogs and cats.

Dr. Erin Grant

Associate Veterinarian

 

Dr. Grant has been practicing in Fredericton for over 18 years. She completed a bachelor of science in biology at the University of New Brunswick and received her degree in veterinary medicine from the Atlantic Veterinary College at the University of Prince Edward Island.

 

Erin has taken additional training in veterinary dentistry, canine and feline ultrasound, as well as wildlife rehabilitation. 

 

Dr. Grant interests lie in canine and feline medicine and dentistry. She also enjoys working with exotic species especially rabbits and rats as well as seeing the wildlife species that come in from time to time. 

 

Over the years Erin has volunteered for a spay/neuter clinic abroad, local microchip clinics, as well as judging novice pet shows.  She sits on the Orientation Committee of the New Brunswick Veterinary Medical Association and has been involved with community awareness of veterinary medicine.  

 

Dr. Grant enjoys incorportating client education for both children and adults into her appointments for her patients.  

 

When she has time, Erin enjoys yoga and cooking, but most of her spare time is devoted raising her three children. Over the years, she’s had numerous pets from rats to chickens to dogs and cats. Presently she has two cats, Keezer and Bones and a dog, Abby.

Dr. Rhonda Stone

Associate Veterinarian

 

Dr. Stone grew up in Perth-Andover and moved to Fredericton to complete a bachelor of arts in English and psychology at St. Thomas University before completing pre-veterinary studies at the Nova Scotia Agricultural College (Dalhousie University). She earned her degree in veterinary medicine from the Atlantic Veterinary College at the University of PEI. 

 

Before entering the field, Rhonda was a personal banking representative for CIBC.  She always had a passion for animals, people, education and a respect for the human-animal bond, which led her to become a veterinarian. 

 

In 2014, Dr. Stone went to northern Labrador to participate in a spay/neuter clinic for The Chinook Project. She completed rotations in neurology at the Veterinary Emergency Clinic in Toronto and in cardiology and dermatology at the Atlantic Veterinary College. 

 

In her spare time, Rhonda enjoys cooking, baking, and crafting. Rhonda and her partner Neal share 2 dogs, 2 cats, and a bearded dragon named Moustache.
