EMERGENCY CARE
If your pet is having an emergency, call us at 455-1700, 24 hours a day/7 days a week/365 days a year.
If you are the client of another veterinary hospital in Fredericton, please call them directly.
During Business Hours
If your pet has an emergency during our regular business hours, please call us at 455-1700. Emergency cases will be triaged on arrival and will be seen on a priority basis.
We are located at the corner of Prospect & Smythe Streets (1012 Prospect Street) on the south side of Fredericton.
After Hours Emergencies
If your pet has an emergency after we are closed, please call us at 455-1700.
In the evening, you will be connected with Dr. Crandlemire-Reid, Dr. Grant or Dr. Stone. They will assess the situation and will either see you right away or the next morning.
Overnight, on weekends, and on holidays, please call 455-1700 and you will be connected to Riverview Animal Hospital in Moncton. A technician or veterinarian will determine if your pet should see a veterinarian immediately, or if they can wait until Fredericton Animal Hospital re-open the next morning. Riverview is an accredited 24-hour hospital staffed with doctors who focus on emergency medicine. Your pet will receive 24-hour observation by their staff and a veterinarian is in the hospital at all times. Riverview’s emergency fee is only $60, much less than the overnight fee charged in Fredericton ($250-$400). Riverview will send your pet’s file to us after your visit and we will contact you by phone to follow up on your pet’s condition.
Riverview Animal Hospital is a 1.5 hour drive on the Trans-Canada Highway.

Poisoning
If you suspect that your pet has eaten something potentially hazardous, we encourage you to call the Pet Poison Hotline at 1-855-764-7661 immediately as they are best equipped to deal with these cases. They charge a $50 fee, but you will be given a specific course of treatment that you can complete at home to stabilize your pet.
