Implant Dentistry
Dr. Cain has been involved with Implant Dentistry for over 25 years. Our practice provides all aspects of both Surgical and Restorative Implant Dentistry. On the Surgical aspect, we provide Bone grafting to build up bone to receive implants.
We do Sinus grafting to offset the dropping of sinuses after extractions in the upper posterior of the Mouth.
We do soft tissue grafting to provide a better aesthetic result with the Restorative aspect of Implant Dentistry delivery.
All aspects of the surgical component is offered by one dentist so there is no need to travel between different dental offices. All surgical procedures are done by one person, maintaining a comprehensive understanding of the steps and time sequence that takes place to provide the overall service and the final outcome. This is Beneficial to the patient as there is not a number of different treatment plans, office staff and dentists to have to contend with.
It also gives the patient a greater familiarity to the office and the people working with them to deliver a GREAT final health product.
Dr. Cain works with approximately 12 to 15 other dental offices on a referral basis for consultation regarding Implant Dentistry. He also welcomes self referrals.
Periodontal Surgery
Dr. Cain has a vast knowledge of Surgical Implant Dentistry and the required soft tissue [Periodontal] surgery that is required of an experienced Implant Surgeon.
The delivery of Periodontal Services:
Pocket reduction surgery, soft tissue grafting to prevent and reverse tissue recession around individual teeth, is common treatment modalities that are delivered to not only his regular family practice but also to the vast number of patients that are referred to him from 12 to 15 other dental practices in the Greater Fredericton Area.
Other Periodontal Services involve bone grafting around pre-existing teeth, crown lengthening of teeth for crown placement of heavily restored teeth, plastic surgery procedures of soft tissue surrounding teeth for better aesthetic results.
Restorative Dentistry
Our office provides all aspects of Restorations. White, silver and gold fillings are all a choice of treatment when we are faced with treating dental decay.
Different filling materials are required to treat different locations on the tooth and different situations that may occur.
From a point of aesthetics, we provide veneer options as well as Full Porcelain crowns that provide a great aesthetic option to conventional porcelain, fused to metal crowns. This prevents the commonly talked about “dark line” at the top of the crown.
In treating children there isn’t a better way to prevent decay than to provide pit annd fissure sealants to the newly erupting permanent posterior teeth. This preventive measure can help to stop decay from occurring on those hard-to-get biting surfaces of the back teeth.
Root Canals
Dr Cain does most of his own root canal services. He uses the most up-to-date Rotary Endodontic drill systems available today with the Airwave System employed.
Aesthetic Dentistry
Dr Cain provides a wide array of services in this field. He provides care to many other dental office patients on a referral basis and as well self-referral from patients, over the phone or email driven.
Dr Cain provides Veneers, Porcelain crowns and porcelain onlays and inlays . He has a very close working relationship with the other part of his dental team …The lab.
His Lab, Full Screen Dental, is based in Fredericton proper. It is located only 5 minutes from his office. This allows for convenient appointments when custom shading of a veneer or crown is required to match alongside adjacent natural teeth.
Fullscreen Dental Lab is operated by Markus and Pam Michael. Markus is a Master Technician from Germany with credentials that are recognized as the HIGHEST STANDARDS achievable in the World of Dental Technology!! It is with this close working relationship that we are able to provide top quality results in the world of Cosmetic Dentistry.
Comprehensive Hygiene
Our office has two full-time Dental Hygienists. This allows us to deliver ideal dental maintenance in the form of dental cleanings. This can be made up of Scaling, deep root planning, Prophy and polishes.
With two full-time hygienists, we can offer side by side cleaning appointments for husband and wife . This allows you to come in and leave at approximately the same time.
With families of multiple siblings we can have the children done two at a time and not have a whole afternoon at the dental office waiting for checkups and cleanings.
Both hygienist are graduates of Dalhousie University with a BSc. Designation in Dental Hygiene.
Crown and Bridge
Our Office offers Full Mouth Reconstruction with the use of crowns and bridges [fixated and removable]. This treatment provides the patient with a better bite and the ability to function with ideal biting and function dentition.
Treatment for the badly worn down teeth or those teeth that look like an “old person’s teeth” can be REJUEVENATED to have a YOUNGER APPEARANCE.
The whole mouth can also be looked at in order to properly achieve ideal aesthetics and function. Consultation and records are required for most types of treatment . The feeling at our office is “the patient has to understand what is required to achieve excellence before excellence can be provided to them!!!!”
